Background Information
The White House Communications Amateur Radio Club comprises both active duty and veteran military personnel affiliated with the White House Communications Agency (WHCA).
Founded on March 25, 1942, by then-President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the WHCA was established to guarantee that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces—the President—could maintain reliable communication no matter where they were located.
Over the years, the scope and responsibilities of the WHCA have evolved significantly, transforming it into an elite communications group. This organization is dedicated to providing essential support to the President, Vice President, Secret Service, and senior officials within the White House.
